Was Pakistan in danger of decline within months?

Almost six months ago anti-Pakistan propaganda machine was in full swing, predicting that Pakistan was in danger of collapse within months. However, it was obvious that this propaganda was baseless.

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs Howard L. Berman said in April 2009, “it is very alarming that we are now hearing predictions from a number of leading experts that Pakistan could collapse in as little as six months”.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that current situation in Pakistan, “poses a mortal threat to the security and safety of our country and the world”. She further added that “I think that we can not underscore [enough] the seriousness of the existential threat posed to the state of Pakistan … I think the Pakistani government is basically abdicating to the Taleban and the extremists”.

There was an attempt by the West to scare the people of Pakistan. Nevertheless, the people of Pakistan are used to this type of anti-Pakistan propaganda for decades. Actually, the anti-Pakistan lobby has become a laughing stock.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was leading the charge against Pakistan. Her complete failure to assess the situation in Pakistan has permanently damaged her reputation. No one is going to believe her assessments about Pakistan in future.

Pakistan is much stronger than six months ago. The state of Pakistan with the help of its well disciplined army is doing very well in the current geopolitical situation. If Pakistan is left alone by the thugs in the West then it will do very well with the help of its professional army.

Pakistan is a reality; it will exist in all circumstances because of the determination of Pakistan's people and its brave army.
