A new wave of racism in the West

From Sara Palin asking Muslims not to build a Mosque in New York to Sarkozy stirring up burka debate in France and Tony Abbot in Australia declaring that boats caring asylum seekers should be turned away, belong to the same gang. They are all singing from the same hymn sheet of xenophobia.

This is not the first time that mainstream politicians in the West are using racism during tough economic times. It is the history of the West to look for escape goats to hide their own mistakes. The West use to persecute Jews and force them to live in ghettos for centuries in the past.

It is evident from the history that the West resorts to xenophobic policies during tough economic times. This is exactly what it is doing right now. It is highly likely that the West will persecute ethnic minorities in the future to divert the attention of its people to cover up the economic blunders of the Western establishment.
